Welcome to St Benedict's Catholic Academy

Principal
Paula  Parker

I am proud to be a leader here at St Benedict’s school.

We serve the parish of St Benedict’s in Atherstone. We are a small and friendly school where children flourish as individuals. As part of the Holy Spirit MAC we strive to ensure every child is able to access the Holy Spirit Experience and grow into the fully rounded person God intends them to be. We have committed staff who ensure high standards and are committed to driving improvement in all areas of school life. Safeguarding systems are robust and ensure the children in our school are well cared for and supported at times of need.

CEO Sinead Smith

On behalf of the Holy Spirit MAC, I extend a very warm welcome to you.

St. Benedict’s Catholic Academy is at the heart of a wonderful village community. As a school, there is so much to celebrate and to be proud of but the absolute jewel in the crown is undoubtedly our wonderful children! The children at St. Benedict’s behave impeccably and their contribution to school life is outstanding. Whether it’s getting involved in the huge amount of charities and social action work we do, or simply showing consideration for their friends and peers, the children at St. Benedict’s are always exemplary.

St. Benedict’s has a long track record of achieving academic excellence and we know just how important academic success is to transforming the life chances of young people. However, leaders and staff at St. Benedict’s are consistently committed to caring for and nurturing the whole child. Children benefit from a broad range of diverse learning opportunities- from retreat days to residential trips- life at St. Benedict’s is about making memories that will last a lifetime. We are supported on this journey by our fantastic parents and families. In return, we do our best to thank parents for their support by hosting events such as afternoon tea or our ‘Life at St. Benedict’s’ open mornings. We know that together we’re better so we value the great relationships we have with families.

St. Benedict’s is a member of the Holy Spirit MAC. As a family of schools, we work together to consistently improve the quality of education for every child in our schools. Staff and children at St. Benedict’s benefit from high quality collaboration with colleagues and peers from other schools and this enables us to be continually outward facing and striving for improvement. The children in each of our schools know they not only belong to the school community but they also enjoy being part of our Holy Spirit MAC family.

As a Catholic MAC, we unashamedly proclaim our faith and we guide children to have a deep and fulfilling relationship with Jesus. The prayer life of our schools is incredibly important and children regularly participate in collective worship, both within school and by attending Mass at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. We enjoy strong links with the wider parish community and so when a child becomes a member of the school community at St. Benedict’s, they also become a member of the parish family.

Our Mission

With grace and humility,
glorify the Lord by your life

Academic excellence - providing outstanding teaching and learning, rigorous monitoring, a varied and adaptable curriculum with a variety of experiences for all the young people in our care.

We seek to continue the work that has been handed on to us by previous generations and to make Catholic Education a beacon of excellence, not just by catechesis and the delivery of a curriculum, but by the formation of disciples following Jesus in His way of Love.
