School Council Election Process

St. Benedict’s has a democratically elected school council consisting of 8 members of Year 6. During October children from year 6 can be nominated to stand for school council and can then campaign!

This year the hustings took place on Tuesday 17th October, when all 19 nominees gave a speech in front of Y1 to Y6 in the hall. A nerve racking experience, but all the candidates performed well, explaining why they deserved a vote and what they stood for.

Voting took place on Thursday 19th; all children filling in a ballot paper and placing it in the ballot box.
