Pumpkin Soup Making
Ivy's family donated five pumpkins to Nursia Class. We decided to make pumpkin soup! We cut open the pumpkins and found lots of seeds and stringy bits. We cut up the pumpkins and looked closely at the other ingredients we needed to make the soup - seasoning, potatoes and cream. We loved eating the soup. Delicious!
Harvest Time - Butter Making
The children were really interested in learning about where their food comes from. They asked about milk and cheese, so we learnt about how farmers milk cows. Holly asked where butter came from and how it was made. So, the next day we made our own butter from shaking cream. We used it to make our own snack of toast, butter and jam. Yummy!
