Nursia Nativity - It's a Baby
All the children were totally amazing in our class nativity performance. They sang so beautifully and were real professionals.We are sp proud of you!
Diwali - Multi Faith Week
As part of multi faith week, we learnt about the Hindu celebration of Diwali. We read the story of Rama and Sita and made Rangoli patterns. Some of our parents came to help us!
We have been dancing and moving to music based on our class story 'Bedtime for Monsters' by Ed Vere. We had such fun acting out the story! We rode on bikes, moved through mud, climbed mountains and walked through a spikey forest. We did most of this with our tongues hanging out because we were hungry monsters!
Something strange in Nursia Class
When we arrived at school today we found somme foot prints. We were very excited and looked to see where they went. We looked at them closely to find any clues of who might have left them!
Today we had a road saftey workshop. We learnt about how to keep safe when crossing a road. We learnt the code - Think, stop, look, listen and hold hands.
Five senses investigation
We have been learning about our five senses. We went on a walk to use our sense of sight and hearing. We drew pictures to record our findings.
We have been learning about where our food comes fr om. We talked about the types of food a cow gives us e.g. milk, cream, butter and meat. We made our own butter by shaking double cream. We then used our 5 senses when making and eating some toast! Yummy!
Mark Making - Outdoor Fun
We have been using chalks to make our marks outside. We made dragons, wrote our names, created treasure maps and wrote the alpabet.
Religious Education - The Creation Story
We have been learning about The Creation Story from the Bible. We have discovered how God made the world in 7 days. We acted out the story to help us remember what happened.
Wind, wind and more wind!
Storm Ali arrived. Trees were blown over and leaves were flying in the air. We decided to make wind blowers. We used tape, string and sticks. Great fun!

Heat Wave July 2018
The weather has reached dizzy heights and we are relaxing after our phonics lesson in our home made paddling pool!
Mini Beast Project - July 2018
We are learning about mini beasts. We have been writing our very own information books. The children decided that they wanted to learn more about bees. We then discovered that Charlie's Grandad is a bee keeper! We got to look at some real honeycomb, wax and protective clothing.

Today we met Warwick Bear! He told us how to keep safe when we are near roads. We have to Think, Stop, Look and Listen.
In the moment...
The children wanted to play shops. They set up their own shop and decorated it with string. We then decided to make our shop even better! The children wrote their own labels using their phonetic knowledge. Check out our shop!!!!

Pumpkin Soup Making
Ivy's family donated five pumpkins to Nursia Class. We decided to make pumpkin soup! We cut open the pumpkins and found lots of seeds and stringy bits. We cut up the pumpkins and looked closely at the other ingredients we needed to make the soup - seasoning, potatoes and cream. We loved eating the soup. Delicious!
Harvest Time - Butter Making
The children were really interested in learning about where their food comes from. They asked about milk and cheese, so we learnt about how farmers milk cows. Holly asked where butter came from and how it was made. So, the next day we made our own butter from shaking cream. We used it to make our own snack of toast, butter and jam. Yummy!
